Respected Chicago figures Michael Damsky and Harvey Wells “are teaming up to launch a radio management consulting firm,” says Chicago scribe Robert Feder. They’re both past general managers of CBS Radio’s adult alternative WXRT/93.1. Damsky’s also run talk WLS/890 and classic hits WLS-FM/94.7 for Cumulus. Harvey Wells has managed CBS Radio’s all-sports “Score” WSCR/670, country “US 99.5” WUSN, the former WCKG/105.9 and Fred Eychaner’s Newsweb stations. On the floor of the Radio Show in Atlanta, they tell NOW they’re focusing on small and medium-market stations who might need temporary help (between GMs, for example), or coaching for a first-time GM. Also for owners looking to develop a strategic plan, and analysis of performance (and expenses) in sales, programming and operations. They call themselves “a second set of eyes and ears.”
